Convento de Santa Clara (C.M.G.)
2005 © Oficina Virtual de Turismo It was once one of the richest convents of Guimarães instituted in the 16th century by Baltasar de Andrade, Cannon and School-master of the Chapter of N. Sra. da Oliveira. The facade of the building is baroque, with a sculpture of St. Clare at its centre, while the two-storey cloister is Neo-classical. This location is related to some of some of the best conventual pastry that we have today. The building is now the Town Hall.
