From the 4th to the 12th of October
The festival of San Froilán, born in Lugo and patron saint of the city, takes
place between the 4th and the 12th of October, and they
are the most beautiful and crowded ones in Galicia. Thousands of people visit
during those days the old capital city, especially on the so-called Domingo das
Mozas (Girls’ Sunday), when it is packed with people.
A big fair with stands and stalls, a medieval fair, traditional Galician music
in every street and square, a number of free concerts by international music
stars... And the “stands” with octopus, big portable restaurants where octopus
“feria”-style is served, as well as other traditional food cooked only during
the festival. All this makes San Froilán in Lugo an unforgettable experience.
